Terms and Conditions

By booking a session the client automatically accepts these terms and conditions.

Booking, Cancelling and rebooking sessions

All appointment for uninsured/private clients must be paid for in full at the time of booking.

Any session (insured or uninsured/private) must be paid for in full at least 48 hours before the session is due to take place. If a client does not do this the booked session will automatically be cancelled.

If a session is cancelled by the patient within 48 hours of the session being due to take place the client will be charged in full for the session, no refunds will be given.

If a client asks for a session to be rebooked more than 48 hours before the session is due to take place the fees already paid will be carried over to the new appointment but the new appointment is then covered by the usual terms and conditions.

If an appointment is cancelled there is no guarantee the same date and time can be rebooked.

Dr Nugent does not accept any liability in relation to the therapy and modalities used within sessions.

It is the patient’s responsibility attend the session on time.

If Dr Nugent has to cancel a session the client will be offered the opportunity to re-book and will be offered a full refund.

Appointments times will be negotiated between Dr Nugent and the client via telephone, text or email.

Payments can be made by cash or bank transfer with the details being given at the time of booking.

Other session related matters

Late attendance to an appointment by the client will not result in the end time for the session being altered as appointments with different people are likely to have been cooked consecutively.

The length of the appointment is at the discretion of Dr Nugent. Appointments are scheduled for 50 minutes. Dr Nugent reserves the right to terminate sessions if it is felt that continuing the session is not in the client’s best interests.

Dr Nugent will use reasonable care and skill in providing the service that the client chooses. Every client is different and so every session is different and there are no guarantees of successful results. The client takes full responsibility for this and works with the help of Dr Nugent to achieve this.

If therapy is unsuccessful no refunds will be offered.

If any risks are noted within sessions either to the client, the therapist or others Dr Nugent reserves the right to terminate the session.

Personal threats, verbal or physical abuse and vandalism will not be tolerated and the session immediately terminated. Subsequently no refund or any monies will be given for the remaining time of the booked session.

 

Therapy agreement

New patients must sign and return the therapy agreement no later than 48 hours prior to their booked session. If this is not returned the booked session will be cancelled.

Contact between Client and Therapist

Dr Stella Nugent is unavailable outside of sessions for the purposes of booking, cancelling or re-booking appointments. Phoning or texting out of session times for other matters is strongly discouraged.

Confidentiality

You are not permitted to record the session on a phone or otherwise. No part of the session must be used or distributed by the client.

Dr Nugent reserves the right to decline to share information about your sessions unless required by a court of law or the police or in the interests of the public. If she considers you are at risk to yourself or others she reserves the right to share session notes and recordings.

Dr Nugent owns the right to record material such as session notes.

Dr Nugent is bound to provide confidentiality between the client and herself.

Dr Nugent will collect Personal Information relevant to the therapy such as name, address, telephone number, email address, GP name and address and contact number. All information will be kept in  a locked cabinet in a  locked building.

Other services

If a psychological letter is requested to be written to the client’s employer, university, school or GP this will be sent via email or post and charged at £130.00 per letter or more if it takes longer than an hour to complete the work.

Any Psychological report will be charged at £130.00 per hour including reparation and writing time.

Any expert witness, training or coaching work and fees will be negotiated between Dr Nugent and the client. Dr. Nugent reserves the right to decline work which she feels she does not have the time to commit to or is out of her area of expertise.

Professional Registration

Dr Nugent complies by the code of the HCPC, BPS and GDPR regulations.

In line with professional accrediting bodies Dr Nugent is in a professional supervision relationship where information about case work is discussed. However, Personal Information will not be shared within those sessions.

Crisis Services

Dr Nugent does not provide a crisis service. If emergency support is needed please contact your GP, NHS 111, dial 999 or go to your local A&E service.

Endings

The client has the right to end therapy at any time in accordance with the payment guidelines as outlined.

Dr Nugent and the client will review the need for session on a regular basis.

If Dr Nugent thinks the client’s needs are beyond her area of expertise and competence then she reserves the right to end the therapy. She will seek to support the client to think about what their needs are and how they might go about meeting those.

If Dr Nugent has to end the therapy due to unforeseen circumstances she reserves the right not to give a reason for this but will give as much notice as possible. However, if she is able to provide an explanation she will do so in the best interests of the client and herself.

Dr Nugent will aim to discuss the number of session with a client and let the client know when therapy will end in accordance with whichever modality is being used for the therapy.
